Geek Confidence

Sex 2.0 worked for me!

I learned/solidified so many ideas during Sex 2.0 this weekend.

1.) I can break out of the mold that I created for myself of *only* writing erotica.

2.) Sometimes you need someone to tell you that they like what you do to kick-start your creative juices and help you break into new territory.

3.) Ellie is the most amazing girl in the world, and I’m so lucky to be her partner.

4.) FurryGirl, despite her shyness, is as intoxicatingly intelligent as she is aesthetically pleasing.

5.) There are far more people in the world doing sex-positive work than I was previously aware.

6.) The atmosphere of sexuality at the conference and the after-party (at least among the Sex 2.0 attendees) was pleasant, fun, and relaxing.

7.) Even extremely attractive men and women (holy crap WAY too many to mention) can be fantastically accepting of people like Ellie and I with less than perfect bodies.

This conference left me with such positive feelings about the future of sexual activism and humanity in general.

Other fantastic Sex 2.0 wrap-ups:

Melissa Gira
Sakura Sarashi
Mistress Maeve
Ellie Lumpesse
Renegade Evolution
Audacia Ray
Viviane’s Sex Carnival

Wow! Can I quote you on that?

So glad you and Ellie were able to come (my inner 14-year-old can’t type that without laughing) and that you had such a fantastic time. It was truly a wonderful weekend!

Of course you can! We had the most amazing time - Eternal Apprentice

  4. “less than perfect bodies”? Uh, they looked pretty perfect to me. Just sayin’…

    ;)

You’re too kind.. if only we all had more time. However, cars and airplanes didn’t cease to exist while we were in heaven… er, at Sex 2.0. - Jay

Thanks Ren, it was wonderful to meet you as well. We were so sad to hear about your airport nightmare :( Hopefully, if DC becomes the next site of Sex 2.0 then you won’t have to deal with any more airports. - Jay

  10. 7.) Even extremely attractive men and women (holy crap WAY too many to mention) can be fantastically accepting of people like Ellie and I with less than perfect bodies.

First:thanks for speaking to this issue of body image and size acceptance. I have huge fears around body acceptance.

Second: you and Ellie are both so cute, I can’t imagine you’d have any concerns at all. And I guess that’s the reality of the situation–we can’t always see our own assets.

You’re so sweet. Body image is a huge problem for both Ellie and I. Although, keeping our blogs has been a pretty big help. You’re exactly right about people overlooking their own assets. We all need a little distance from our own bodies, like hindsight (of course that only lets you check out your own booty :) ). - Jay
